birthday morning

this morning was great. i was in bed.
bailey came in singing happy birthday, and snuggled up to me. she was on her back, looking up at the ceiling.

mom, how 'bout you go to a spa this morning and just relax? I'll stay home and watch the kids.
(dang, wish i'd thought of the spa thing myself! no, i didn't take her up on it.)

all smiles, alex presented me with a special painting he made of a fall tree and a poem.
and he sang,
happy birthday to you, you're thi-irty two. happy birthday to .....amy, (cuthe that's really your name) happy birthday to you.
and i got a slobbery kiss and a great big hug.

garrett dealt with the usual morning drama AND took the kids to school.
that was big. it was both timely and very thoughtful. ho got an 'a' in my book.

at the table the family sang collectively. adam joined in very loudly and ended
with a cheer.
perfect.

yesterday was just as great!! we enjoyed a special family dinner @ g's parents', with pumpkin cobbler and
birthday cards! we even had family pictures! can't wait to see those babies.
