maui- day 1

a few simple words sum up our first day. well, at least through my eyes.

1 TRAVEL
first by plane. then by jeep. that's gar behind the alamo dude.
6:45 am
leave our house
5 pm pull into the westin parking lot






2 CLOUDS & Sunshine
instantly we noticed the clouds around the mountain.
they were only on the mountain. everywhere else, the
sun shone beautifully- and through a canopy of trees.
i swear this is the garden of eden.







3 lobby
are you kidding me? i was taken off guard completely.
i don't think i've ever seen an outside lobby. amazing.
breathtaking. after an exhausting day of travel, it truly
took my breath away.
it also held a fun little tidbit i noticed later...






4 our balcony
oh my! you mean i get to wake up to this each
morning?!? where do i sign? oh yeah, i already
did. :) the balcony itself was gorgeous. i loved
the curves. i want to thank the architect. what
a genius. and when the sun danced off it... wow.



















5 DRINKS!!!
we met everyone downstairs at sunset for appetizers
and drinks. it was a fun way to mingle.
i never knew i would come to love the
phrase 'open bar'. virgin pina coladas and strawberry
daqs were the first. then the bar tender opened our
virgin eyes to a whole world of tropical drinks. passion
fruit, 50/50, and my favorite, LAVA FLOW. oh mama.
we were steps from the ocean and the sunset was magnificent.
it was pure heaven.
