she knows who she is.
she knows what her standards are.
she manages to live in this cray world,
but not let herself get too caught up in it.
i've had the opportunity to work closely with these chicas
for a year and a half, and i have grown to love each
one. really love them. it makes me happy and relieved
that the future generation is in such capable hands.

post edit:
i got the chance to go to this AWESOME event. right along side my cool s-i-l. it's a dream of mine to go to one of these creative workshops. i envision it being amazing on so many levels. the speakers, the eye candy, the surroundings (the far right pic on my banner was taken there), the inspiration!!! and to top it off,
my sister is one of the 4 planners of the event!! she has been working and dreaming for a while now. i know enough to know that anything she touches turns to gold.
it was decided i would go. plans were made, and i moved forward. woohoo!!
then this afternoon, my friend dropped off the pamphlet for our youth conference. i am one of the leaders that is to go. we are staying @ camp lomia and it sounds like a great experience. it's the same weekend as my spark event! i told my friend that i had planned to go out of state for this event and the ticket was in hand. she was so nice and said not to worry about coming~ that it would all work out just fine.
i went inside and read the pamphlet.
As zion's youth in latter days we stand with valiant heart
with promise shining in our eyes, resolved to do our part.
Upon a noble past we build; the future fills our view.
We face the challenge of our day and pledge we will be true.
The truths and values we embrace are mocked on every hand.
Yet as we listen and obey we know we can withstand
The evils that would weaken us, the sin that would destroy.
With faith we hold the iron rod and find in this our joy.
Thru test and trials we'll have our fears, But we will not despair.
We're here to serve a righteous cause; Truth gives us strength to dare.
We'll love and learn, and overcome; we'll sing a joyful song.
As zion's youth in latter days, triumphant, pure, and strong.
When i read the words, i had a very strong feeling come over me that i was supposed to be at this youth conference on this weekend.
so that was that. when i get that strong of a feeling, i know to go with it- and follow it through.
my heart breaks a little thinking about the fabulous weekend in utah, but i know i will be where i am supposed to be. with these wonderful girls. and that's what matters.

Amy - You are Awesome!!! I'm so thankful that you are the mother of my grandchildren because I know that you will always guide them in righteousness and set the right example for them - even when you would really rather be in Utah at the "Spark" Convention!
